OmahaSlick wins week 1 Pickem' After a close opening night win, then scoring 8 points on the Niners beat-down down-under, Dani jumped out to an early lead heading into Sunday's action. Sunday was more of the same as Dani was able to string together a nice sequence of victories, with her only true blemish coming at the hands of the Cardinals. With a total of 115 confidence points, Dani won the week 1 confidence pot. Always Go For 2 jumped into second place, thanks to having 8 points on the Chiefs, but finished three points back of the lead.

As is often the case early in the season, things went a little sideways in week 1. With five underdogs winning, including a couple big upsets, there were an impressive six players who managed to correctly call 13 matchups. But in the end it was OmahaSlick who best read the tea leaves and finished as the only player with 14 correct picks to take the week 1 Pickem' crown. Dani was one correct pick away from capturing the sweep, but ended up in second place based on the first tie-breaker and ensuring an all-female finish to week 1.

Players were not able to repeat last season's week 1 Survivor success and instead the heavily-favored Chargers lost at home and took down 29 players with them. The other LA team also took out some players with their loss, accounting for the vast majority of the 39 total lives lost this week in Survivor. It could have been so much worse as 13 players had to get a goal-line stop on overtime from the Lion to survive the week. Icky Shuffle earned a bravery badge this week, by resting his hopes on the Giants to go 1-0
